[02-14-2024] Lake County, CA – 67-Year-Old Female Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck by Vehicle Along Highway 20 in Nice

A 67-year-old female pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle in Nice, Lake County, on Wednesday night, February 14, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly collision happened at around 7:38 p.m. on Highway 20, west of Benton Avenue.

Investigators said that the pedestrian was crossing the highway from the south side of the road when she was hit by a 1995 Buick going east at about 40 miles per hour. It was apparently dark and rainy when the accident occurred.

Responding officials tried saving the victim’s life but failed. She died at the scene shortly after. The driver of the Buick was later identified as 56-year-old Dawn J. from Lucerne.

There were no further details available at the time. Investigations are still ongoing.
