Two people were killed, and another was injured following a two-vehicle collision in Ramona, San Diego County, on Thursday afternoon, February 8, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around 4:45 p.m. on San Vicente Road, east of Wildcat Canyon Road.

Authorities stated that a 21-year-old man and his 13-year-old male passenger were the occupants of a Toyota Scion TC. For unknown reasons, the driver drove over the painted yellow lines into oncoming traffic and collided with an eastbound Dodge Durango.

Police confirmed that the driver and the boy died at the scene. Their identities were not yet disclosed pending notification of family.

The 61-year-old Ramona woman driving the Dodge was transported to a hospital with minor injuries.

No further information was released. The investigation into the collision continues.
