A teenager was injured, and another person was hospitalized following a runaway Muni bus crash in Daly City on Thursday afternoon, February 8, 2024.

According to the authorities, the crash occurred around 4:00 p.m. between Mission Street and Flournoy Street, near the GQ Smoke Shop.

Reports indicate that the bus veered off the road and struck signposts before crashing into the median.

A 14-year-old passenger named Nelson R. stated that he and other passengers noticed the bus begin to move. He decided to jump out of the bus after seeing other people escape as well.

The teenage victim sprained his wrist, while an unidentified victim was transported to the hospital in an unknown condition.

The authorities are currently conducting an investigation into the cause of the crash. Further details have yet to be released.
