At least one person was injured following a hit-and-run collision in Antioch on Tuesday evening, February 6, 2024.

According to the Antioch Police Department, the collision occurred around 6:50 p.m. on East 18th Street and Hillcrest Avenue.

Authorities stated that the incident started with an assault in a nearby parking lot. Two men attacked another man, who then retrieved a gun and fired at the assailants.

Police said that in order to escape the gunfire, the assailants made a U-turn against a red light at the intersection and collided with another car driving east on East 18th Street.

The driver of the vehicle that was hit was hospitalized with a complaint of pain. The assailants and the shooter fled from the scene.

No further information was released, and the authorities are gathering all necessary information to determine the identity of the suspects.
