A 63-year-old pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle near Golden Gate Park in San Francisco early Wednesday morning, January 31, 2024.

According to the San Francisco Police Department, the fatal collision occurred at about 5:30 a.m. between Fulton Street and Arguello Boulevard.

The elderly man was reportedly crossing the street when a minivan driver allegedly drove on a green light before hitting the pedestrian.

The victim was transported to San Francisco General Hospital, where he was declared dead. His identity remains undisclosed pending the notification of the next of kin.

Authorities stated that the pavement markings in the area were in good condition, while the streetlights and the traffic signal were working properly.

No charges against the driver were confirmed. Further details about the fatal collision have yet to be released.
