A 16-year-old snowboarder was hospitalized after a ski lift incident at Mammoth Mountain Resort in Mono County on Saturday morning, January 27, 2024.

Video footage of the incident went viral, showing a female teenager hanging from the chairlift while five employees and eight guests prepared a net to slow her fall.

Reports indicate that the victim rode the lift but was not properly seated for unknown reasons, causing her to slide off the chair. Her fellow riders grabbed her, but she eventually fell.

However, the net was not enough to stop the victim from hitting the snow below. She was transported to Mammoth Hospital in an unknown condition.

The authorities have not released further details about the incident.
