Three people were injured after a speeding driver caused a three-vehicle collision in Arden-Arcade, Sacramento County, late Wednesday morning, February 7, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at around 11:00 a.m. along Marconi Avenue.

CHP said that a van driver was speeding along Marconi Avenue when it struck a car pulling out of a driveway near Montclaire Street before hitting another car. Due to the impact, both cars were thrown onto the grass of an apartment complex nearby.

Authorities confirmed that the van driver suffered severe injuries in the incident, while the two other drivers were hospitalized.

There were no further details available at the time. Investigations are still ongoing.
