A missing woman was found stranded in a gondola at South Lake Tahoe on Friday, January 26, 2024.

According to the South Lake Tahoe Fire and Rescue, the incident occurred at the Heavenly Ski Resort.

The victim, Monica L., was on a skiing trip with her friends when she felt tired and decided to take the gondola at about 4:58 p.m. However, her transport halted two minutes later, and she was left hanging in the sky for 15 hours.

Without any means of communication, no one was able to notice the woman, while her friends reported her missing to the authorities.

Monica L. fought the cold until the gondola was working again. She was assessed and treated before being released.

The authorities have not released further information about the incident.
