An 83-year-old woman was killed following a reckless hit-and-run collision in San Leandro on Saturday morning, October 21, 2023.

According to the San Leandro Police Department, the fatal collision happened around 10:15 a.m. on Spring Lake Drive.

The elderly woman was crossing the street to get to her husband’s car when she was struck and sent flying by a speeding gray BMW sedan, which fled the scene.

The victim was declared dead on the scene, while the police caught up with the suspect driver, who was not cited and cooperated with the investigation.
