A female pedestrian was hospitalized after a hit-and-run collision in San Francisco on Monday night, October 2, 2023.

According to the San Francisco Police Department, the incident occurred on 5th Street, just south of Market Street, at around 9:30 p.m.

Authorities responded to the scene where a woman was struck by two vehicles. The pedestrian was initially struck by an unidentified vehicle that fled, followed by a Cruise autonomous car that remained at the scene after hitting her.

Firefighters rescued the pedestrian who was found trapped under the Cruise car. She suffered multiple traumatic injuries and was rendered aid before being transported to a local hospital. The victim’s condition is unknown.

The hit-and-run driver is at large. Anyone with information regarding the crash is encouraged to contact the police.
