[09-22-2023] San Bernardino County, CA – 35-Year-Old Man Died Following Pedestrian vs. Vehicle Crash in Victorville

A 35-year-old man died after being struck by a vehicle in Victorville on Friday night, September 22, 2023.

According to the San Bernardino County Coroner, the incident occurred at 10:29 p.m. on Bear Valley Road.

Authorities reported that the victim, identified as Edson T., was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver cooperated with the authorities.

The road was closed for several hours while the investigation was conducted by the Hesperia Station police. Anyone with information about the incident should contact the authorities immediately.

Turning crashes tend to occur in larger vehicles, according to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, and pedestrians who are struck by large vehicles are more likely to suffer serious injuries compared to pedestrians struck by smaller cars injuries. Truck-related collisions left-turning, involving pickup trucks, claimed the lives of 269.6% more pedestrians than passenger cars.
