A pedestrian was injured following a DUI collision in Bakersfield on Tuesday evening, September 19, 2023.

The Bakersfield Police Department responded to the pedestrian vs. vehicle reports around 7:45 p.m. on Chester Avenue at 4th Street.

Upon the arrival of police, the male driver remained at the scene and cooperated with sobriety tests. He was later taken into custody for suspected driving under the influence.

Officials said medical teams transported the victim to a nearby hospital to be treated for moderate injuries.
