[09-07-2023] Kings County, CA – Two Riders Seriously Injured After Motorcycle vs. Vehicle Crash Along Kent Avenue

A man and woman were seriously injured following a motorcycle vs. car collision in Kings County on Thursday night, September 7, 2023.

The California Highway Patrol responded to the collision reports involving a 2000 Pure Steel Motorcycle and an unspecified Ford vehicle around 8:00 p.m. on Avenal Cutoff north of Kent Avenue.

Initial investigation revealed that the Ford, coming from the northbound lane on Avenal Cutoff Road, merged into the southbound lane at around 70 miles per hour and directly into the motorcycle’s path.

CHP stated that the Pure Steel motorcycle, traveling at an unknown speed, could not respond to the Ford vehicle lane in time. As a result, the left side of the Ford collided with the left side of the motorcycle, causing the motorcycle to flip and eject both passengers.

Officials said that drugs and alcohol were not factors in the incident. The cause of the crash is still under investigation and is currently being handled by the CHP.
