[09-04-2023] Los Angeles County, CA – Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck by Metrolink Train in Santa Clarita

A Metrolink Train in Santa Clarita struck and killed a pedestrian on Monday evening, September 4, 2023.

According to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, the crash was reported around 6:30 p.m. near the intersection of Golden Triangle Road and Ruether Avenue in Canyon Country.

Authorities stated that the death of the pedestrian appeared to be an Accident rather than a suicide caused by a Metrolink train. Whether the victim received medical attention first or died on the spot is unknown.

Nearly 700 feet from the collision scene, train passengers and crew members were interviewed or escorted away. Officials did not disclose any identity details of the people involved in the crash.

An investigation is underway to determine what caused the incident.
