[08-29-2023] Ventura County, CA – Male Motorist Hospitalized After Hit-and-Run Crash Involving DUI Driver in Oxnard

A male motorist was hospitalized after a hit-and-run collision involving a DUI driver in Oxnard on Tuesday night, August 29, 2023.

According to the Oxnard Police Department, the crash involving two vehicles occurred at the intersection of Colonia Road and McKinley Avenue in La Colonia at around 9:20 p.m.

One of the drivers in the collision was trapped in the wreckage, while the other driver fled on foot. A man who fit the suspect’s description was questioned, but it was not stated in the report if he was arrested.

The victim was rescued by firefighters and transported to Ventura County Medical Center in critical condition. The authorities believe that alcohol was a factor in this incident.

No further information was released regarding the cause of the crash or the identities of the people involved.
