[06-30-2023] Tuolumne County, CA – Multiple Injuries Reported as SUV Crashed into Power Pole, Trapping Occupants in Sonora Crash

Several individuals were injured after a Jeep Cherokee smashed into a pole in Sonora on Friday afternoon, June 30, 2023.

The California Highway Patrol stated that the incident occurred in the 18000 block of Black Oak Road near the Tuolumne Road intersection.

According to the report, an SUV crashed into a power pole in Sonora, causing live power lines to come down and trap the occupants inside the vehicle.

The collision resulted in a power outage affecting 523 customers, with restoration expected by 9:15 p.m.

The wreckage has been cleared, and traffic is moving freely once again.
