[02-12-2023] San Bernardino County, CA – DUI Driver, Passenger Injured After Car Hit Utility Pole in Yucca Valley

Two people were injured, including the suspected DUI driver, after their car hit a utility pole in Yucca Valley, San Bernardino County, on Sunday evening, February 12, 2023.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Deputies, the DUI single-car crash occurred at about 10:45 p.m. near the Kickapoo Trail and Onaga Trail intersection.

The driver of a Nissan Altima, identified as 28-year-old Beaumont resident Dustin N., reportedly struck a utility pole of the Southern California Edison. He and his passenger, a 24-year-old Vacaville man, were found lying on the ground outside their vehicle.

Both occupants needed medical attention after being severely injured. They were taken to High Desert Medical Center for treatment. No further details on the passenger’s identity and current condition were immediately available.

The driver displayed indicators of intoxication. He was detained on felony DUI suspicions while the further investigation continued.
