Reckless Driving Accident Statistics

Throughout the United States, Reckless Driving contributes significantly to traffic accidents, road rage incidents, and fatal highway accidents. As defined by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, aggressive driving involves violating traffic laws regularly to endanger others.

In a 2009 study by the American Automobile Association, aggressive driving was a factor in 56% of fatal accidents between 2003 and 2007.

According to statistics from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Fatal Accident Reporting System, excessive speed is the most common factor.

Reckless driving is classified as a significant traffic violation or an extreme felony in California. The terms “driving” and “reckless,” “careless,” and “improper” driving are commonly used interchangeably. Whatever you name them, they dramatically increase the chance of deadly car accidents.

Drivers who are aggressive or careless endanger the lives of others. It is unacceptable when reckless driving causes injury to third parties. Those responsible for the damage and deaths caused by these drivers should face the consequences.

Trusted Lawyers for Reckless Driving Accidents in Sierra Madre

The majority of car accidents are the result of legal negligence. You will need a California accident lawyer to establish “negligence per se” by proving that the other driver was at fault in a reckless driving incident. Due to its intentional nature, deliberate action, such as drunk driving, bears a higher chance of unexpected consequences.

Injured pedestrians, passengers, or other road users may be able to demonstrate negligence as the principal cause of their injuries. The California Vehicle Code forbids reckless driving, and negligence is a violation of the law in and of itself. In either instance, a successful claim demands the education and experience of a dedicated California reckless driving accident lawyer.
