Harrow East MP holds community roadwatch speeding session in Edgware

Bob Blackman, the MP for Harrow East, collaborated with police and local residents in a Community Roadwatch session on Camrose Avenue, Edgware, to tackle the issue of speeding.

The initiative was said to have led to a noticeable reduction in vehicle speeds, with MP Blackman’s involvement highlighted on the Waze app to encourage safer driving practices.

The session focused on the dangers of speeding and its legal repercussions, including a £100 fine and 3 penalty points.

Police interacted with several drivers, stressing the importance of adhering to speed limits for the safety of all road users.

Speaking about the initiative, Bob said, “Community Roadwatch sessions are an effective way to remind drivers of their speed and help keep residents safe. Several drivers were pulled over and given warnings to watch their speed and I am grateful to the police for their assistance on the day.

“I encourage all residents to join and participate in the Community Roadwatch sessions when they are near their area. Together we can keep our streets safe and ensure motorists keep to the speed limit.”
