Harrow Weald incident: Man found unresponsive at property

Emergency services rushed to a property on Long Elmes, Harrow Weald this morning (20 October), after concerns for the welfare of a man.

London Ambulance Service (LAS), Met Police and London Fire Brigade (LFB) all attended the scene shortly before 9:00am.

Emergency services were spotted at the junction of Carmelite Road and Long Elmes in Harrow Weald.

A spokesperson for LFB said: “Firefighters were called to assist emergency service partners at an incident on Long Elmes in Harrow Weald.

“The Brigade was called at 0924 and the incident was over for firefighters by 0943. One fire engine from Harrow Fire Station attended the scene.”

A spokesperson for Met Police said: “Police were called at 08:51hrs on Friday, 20 October to concerns for the wellbeing of a gentlemen at a residential property in Long Elmes, Harrow.

“Officers attended and gained entry to the address. At the scene an 81-year-old man was found unresponsive inside the property. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Next of kin are aware. The death, although unexpected, is not being treated as suspicious.

“A file will be prepared for the Coroner.”

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 9.23am today (20 October) to reports of an incident on Long Elmes, Harrow.

“We sent an ambulance crew and a medic in a fast response car to the scene.

“Our first medics arrived in around five minutes.

“Sadly, a person was pronounced dead at the scene.”
