Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a dog being ‘dangerously out of control’ in Bushey.

Posting via the Herts Police website, a statement said: “The incident occurred at around 4.15pm on Wednesday 10 May, on the pedestrian pathway between Aldenham Road and Finch Lane.

“It is Reported that a 14-year-old boy was riding his bike when he was approached by a dog on a lead.

“The dog, described as brown and medium-sized, then bit the boy on the back of his leg.”

PC Melissa Varol, who is investigating, said: “Our enquiries are continuing, and we are appealing for any witnesses to please get in touch.

“The dog owner is described as being a white male, aged in his mid-30s and wearing a grey jumper. It’s reported that he was also in the company of another man who was out walking a dog.

“If you were in the area at this time and saw a dog being dangerously out of control, or have any further information that may assist our investigation, please email me.”

The statement noted that anyone with info can report information online, speak to an operator in the Force Communications Room via the online web chat or call the non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference 41/37904/23. Always dial 999 in an emergency.
