Residents in Harrow have been warned to stay vigilant after a spate of thefts from motor vehicles.

Over the past few days, two reports have been made to police about items being stolen from inside vehicles parked on Torrington Drive and Parkfield Road, South Harrow.

In both cases, there were no signs of forced entry, suggesting that the thieves may have gained entry through unlocked doors or windows. The incidents serve as a reminder for residents to keep their vehicles locked and to not leave any valuable items inside.

The warning comes as local police in Harrow have promised to have officers out in force to ensure the safety of residents celebrating the coronation. In a tweet, the police urged residents to trust their instincts and report any suspicious activity to an officer or steward, or via the gov.uk/ACT website.

The warning follows news that a silver Mercedes GLE 450 was stolen from a driveway on Curzon Avenue in Stanmore. The vehicle, with the registration number P222SPA, was stolen on the night of May 2.

Anyone who sees the vehicle is urged to call 101, quoting crime reference number 2006456/23.

Residents are advised to be extra cautious during this time and to report any suspicious activity immediately to the authorities.
