  1. The tiger claw (‘Wagh nakh’) used by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the Battle of Pratapgad in 1659, to kill Afzal Khan, is being brought home from a Britain Museum. The Tiger Claw will be on display across Maharashtra for three months.
  2. The government has hiked the price of 19 kg commercial gas cylinders by Rs.209. The price hike comes after a reduction in August and September. However, Domestic LPG prices remain unchanged at ₹903 per 14.2-kg cylinder.
  3. The Centre has kickstarted the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) in Delhi today to tame pollution levels in the national capital during the winter months. GRAP initiates stringent measures based on the level of adverse air classified as Stages 1-4.

  6. Carpooling has been banned in Bengaluru. Those using carpooling mobile apps could face suspension of their Vehice RC for six months and fines up to Rs 10,000. The Transportation Department said it decided following numerous complaints from the cabs association.
  7. The world celebrates its favorite mug of coffee today on International Coffee Day. Its observance highlights not only the socio-economic and cultural significance of coffee, but also fosters awareness of sustainable coffee production and fair trade practices.
  8. Starting today, Vande Bharat Trains will become ‘spic and span’ in just 14 minutes after completing a journey, with four staff per coach to undertake the cleaning. The concept takes inspiration from Japan’s Bullet train model.
  9. ISRO is gearing up for its Venus mission ‘Shukrayaan-1.’ Venus is also considered Earth’s twin as it is about the same size as Earth and has an atmosphere. Shukrayaan-1 will study the planet’s surface, atmosphere, and geological components.
  10. Thousands of Central government employees, also employees of State governments and PSUs, staged their protest at the Ramlila Maidan against the New Pension Scheme and demanded the restoration of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS).
