1. Cyclone Biparjoy: Cyclone Biparjoy over the Arabian Sea is turning into a very severe cyclonic storm. It would head northwards and most likely make landfall in Pakistan. The cyclone could cause a delay in the onset of the Monsoon over Kerala.

Protesting wrestlers get assurance from minister: Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur met the protesting wrestlers Sakshi Malik, Bajrang Punia, and Vinesh Phogat to discuss issues about sexual harassment charges over WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. JDS registered a poor performance in the recent Karnataka election, winning a mere 19 of 224 seats.
8. Yatra claims more lives: As many as 119 Char Dham Yatra pilgrims died in 45 days since it began on April 22. A senior doctor from the health department has advised people with comorbidities not to undertake the yatra now, as the weather remains erratic in the region.
9. Melting Artic floating sea ice: A new scientific study indicates melting of all Arctic floating sea ice in summer could occur as early as 2030. The phenomenon called Arctic amplification could accelerate adverse climate events.
10. MSP for paddy sees hike: The Union Cabinet has hiked the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of paddy by Rs.143 to Rs.2183 per quintal for the 2023-34 marketing season. The decision was announced by Union Minister Piyush Goyal at a media briefing on Wednesday.
