- Starting this September, the government will introduce a health insurance scheme dedicated to transgender (TG) people. Verified beneficiaries would get ‘Ayushman Bharat TG Plus Card.’ The package will cover hormone therapies and gender re-affirmation surgeries.
- The Tamil Nadu government has issued a government order (GO) listing a glossary of terms to identify themselves under various categories of the LGBTQIA+ community. On insistence from the Madras HC, the TN government has made these names published in the gazette mandatory across all forums.
