Dunn Brothers Coffee Names Scott Harvey President

Harvey will Spearhead Franchising and Consumer Packaged Goods Initiatives

Dunn Brothers Coffee has announced Scott Harvey president. He will oversee franchise development and consumer packaged goods initiatives as the coffee brand strives to expand beyond its Midwest and Great Plains markets.

“I’ve always been attracted to and passionate about the coffee segment. Dunn Brothers Coffee has great growth potential and the opportunity to build off its current footprint. With my past experience in leading brand expansions, I could not pass up on the opportunity to do it again with Dunn Brothers,” Harvey said. He is thrilled to join a well-established organization with a strong reputation and have the opportunity to build upon its legacy.

Harvey started in the restaurant industry as a busboy and has loved it ever since. He knew this role was a good fit for him. Serving and engaging with guests, making sure that they always leave with a smile, is what has kept him in the business.

Harvey believes authenticity will help the brand foster trust and loyalty among current and future customers. Additionally, Dunn Brothers Coffee will embrace innovation and cutting-edge products and engage with and support the local community.

The leadership team at Dunn Brothers Coffee’s parent company, Gala Capital Partners, is excited to see Harvey take on this role. “The time is now for us to bring our vision for the brand to life, and Scott is the right leader to do it. Scott’s industry knowledge and proven ability to successfully lead growth concepts is invaluable. We are confident that he will take Dunn Brothers into a profound expansion era,” said managing partner Anand Gala.

Franchising and Leadership

Harvey’s introduction to franchising came while at Einstein Noah Restaurant Group. During his time there, he took over operations, specifically overseeing Manhattan Bagel, and was instantly enamored with franchising. This experience provided him with the opportunity to work closely with franchisees to help them achieve their goals.

Prior to joining Dunn Brothers Coffee, Harvey served as president and chief executive officer of Golden Krust Caribbean Bakery and chief operating officer for Black Rifle Coffee. To Harvey, leadership means empowering others by guiding them toward shared goals, fostering a positive culture, and achieving personal and professional growth. He also feels that good leaders operate with integrity, decisiveness, and adaptability and can inspire others. “They must also have a clear vision, take responsibility, create a team atmosphere where everyone has a voice, and most importantly, lead by example.”

He advises aspiring entrepreneurs to do their homework when looking into franchising and to have a full understanding of the investment. He notes that it’s beneficial for candidates to find brands that match their skill sets and interests. They should also embrace the system they are investing in, have a trusted mentor or advisor, and find joy in the business.
