What is The Most Common Personality Type?

It would be an understatement if I said this topic had been one of the most intriguing ones for me; since the day I started researching and writing about Personality types, I have wondered what is the most common personality and what makes it so?

Many of my friends base their judgment of people’s character on star/sun signs; however, I have always begged to differ. I don’t believe people born in the same month behave similarly, but their personality type makes them act in a certain way.

The Myers Briggs personality test divides people into 16 different categories depending on their core personality traits. Studies show that the Isfj comes up on top, being the most common personality type out of all the people who have taken this test so far. An ISFJ, commonly known as “the protector” is recognized based on its four core traits: introverted, sensing, feeling, and Judging.

Interestingly, one of the most common personality types is that they all share sensing as their core trait. More people in this world try to understand others based on what they can see, hear, and touch compared to people who rely on their abstract feelings.

With an extremely mature emotional quotient, an ISFJ may be an introverted personality type but will not back out from helping those in need even if they have to step out of their comfort zone for it. They are very warm, kind, friendly and conscientious, and that’s where they get the names, protector or defender. It explains why Mother Teresa was an ISFJ personality type.

Halle Berry, Beyonce, Ed Sheeran and Kim Kardashian are some well-known people with an ISFJ personality type. It tells us they have a creative flair and, despite being introverted, are well suited for roles in the music, film and TV industry.

At work, an ISFJ personality is motivated by their values. They will be driven to achieve goals that match their moral values. An ISFJ likes traditional structures and systems being in place, and they get uncomfortable with change. Extremely down to earth, a protector is dedicated and hardworking and will ensure that the tasks they are responsible for are seen through to their completion.

In relationships, an ISFJ is humble and loyal. Because their core traits are introversion and feeling, ISFJs take their own sweet time to open up to people. However, once they do, they will go to any extent to be there for their partner as a strong support system and make sure they always motivate them. Being a great listener is another desirable attribute that anyone looks for in a partner or a friend.
