Sourabh Raaj Jain: The Actor Who Plays Gods

Sourabh Raaj Jain is an Indian actor who has become famous for his roles as various gods in popular TV shows. He has portrayed Lord Krishna, Lord Vishnu, Lord Shiva, and Lord Venkateswara in different mythological dramas that have received praise and appreciation from the audience and critics. He has also shown his versatility and talent by taking part in reality shows like Nach Baliye 9 and Khatron Ke Khiladi 11.

Early Life and Education

Sourabh was born on 1 December 1985 in New Delhi, India. He completed his schooling at CSKM Public School, New Delhi, and then pursued a degree in Computer Applications from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi. He also holds an MBA degree from Symbiosis International University, Pune. He was interested in acting since his childhood and used to participate in school plays and cultural events.

He was also good at academics and used to give tuition to students of lower grades during his school days. He earned ₹500 per student and saved the money for his future. He also faced a tragic incident when his car got burnt down when he was in Delhi.

Career

Sourabh made his acting debut in 2004 with the youth show Remix, where he played the role of Aman Deep. He then appeared in several shows like Meet Mila De Rabba, Kasamh Se, Parichay, Uttaran, Chintu Chinki Aur Ek Badi Si Love Story, etc. However, he rose to fame with his portrayal of Lord Vishnu in Jai Shri Krishna (2008-2009) and Devon Ke Dev…Mahadev (2011-2014). He impressed the viewers with his calm and serene performance as the supreme deity.

He achieved another milestone in his career when he played Lord Krishna in Mahabharat (2013-2014), one of the most successful and acclaimed shows on Indian television. His depiction of the charismatic and wise character was widely appreciated and earned him several awards and accolades. He also lent his voice as the narrator for the show Radha Krishna (2018).

He continued to explore his spiritual side by playing Lord Shiva in Mahakali (2017-2018) and Lord Venkateswara in the Telugu film Om Namo Venkatesaya (2017). He also played the historical role of Dhana Nanda in Porus (2018) and Chandragupta Maurya (2018-2019). He also tried his hand at comedy by playing Akbar in Hazir Jawab Birbal (2015) and Chef Neil Oberoi in Patiala Babes (2019-2020).

He has also ventured into web series with Qubool Hai 2.0 (2021), where he played Hassan Farouqi. He has also been featured in music videos like Deva O Deva (2021) and Jado Main Tere Kol Si (2022).

He has also proved his mettle as a dancer and a stunt performer by participating in reality shows like Nach Baliye 9 (2019) with his wife Riddhima Jain and Khatron Ke Khiladi 11 (2021), where he performed various challenging tasks.

He is also looking forward to working in more diverse genres and mediums in the future. He has expressed his interest in doing web series, films, theatre, radio, podcasts, etc. He has also said that he would love to play a negative character or a superhero someday.

Personal Life

Sourabh married Riddhima Jain, a software engineer, in 2010 after dating her for three years. They met through a common friend and fell in love. They have twin children, Hrishika and Hrishivh, who were born in 2017.

Sourabh is a follower of Buddhism since his teenage days, though he was born to a Jain family. He is also fond of martial arts, reading, dancing, swimming, and gymming. His favourite actors are Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, Hrithik Roshan, and Leonardo DiCaprio. His favourite actresses are Madhuri Dixit and Sushmita Sen. His favourite films are Mughal-E-Azam, Lamhe, 3 Idiots, etc. His favourite writer is Gulzar.

He is also an animal lover and has adopted two dogs named Mowgli and Candy. He is also a vegetarian and supports animal rights causes.

Sourabh has won several awards for his outstanding performances on television. Some of them are:
