Interesting Q&A Session with Manoj Tulsani, CEO of Rayna Group

Q) Please tell us about yourself and your company.

Manoj: I am Manoj Tulsani, a travel entrepreneur and Rayna Tours and Travels co-founder and CEO. Starting more than a decade ago, Rayna Tours has been the industry’s number one choice for destination management services. Our main office is in Dubai and has locations in several parts of the globe, including Malaysia, Singapore, India, Israel, and South Africa. We cater to B2C and B2B clients, with dedicated sections to combine all travel elements, such as worldwide hotel reservations, international visa services, high-end logistic packages, and all-inclusive holidays.

Q) Rayna Tours is now one of the established destination management companies, but what was its beginning like?

Manoj: Rayna Tours began from a small outlet inside Flora Grand Hotel in Dubai. There were just two of us (KamleshRamchandani and I) to take care of every aspect of running and growing our venture back then. That was in 2006; about two years later, we opened 15 more similar outlets before reinforcing our status as a leading destination management company by 2009. Since then, Rayna Tours has remained one of the leaders in offering full-suite travel solutions to all travelers.

Q) What inspired you to start Rayna Tours and Travels?

Manoj: I have always been an avid traveler with an entrepreneurial spirit, so when I decided on a career change after working for about seven years in the trading industry, there wasn’t any confusion or difficulty in choosing my domain, i.e., tourism and hospitality. We started Rayna Tours and Traveled more as a way to express ourselves and nurture our passion.

Q) There are perpetual risks involved in running a business. How do you deal with challenges and mistakes?

Manoj: It’s exciting when you’re the in-charge of your own business. But there are a lot of obstacles and struggles behind this reality. It is especially dreadful in the early stage, at least for us, as we came from an entirely different industry and didn’t have solid strategies or the right team to back our business ideas. That said, it continues in every phase. The catch is removing the roadblock by learning from the mistakes, conducting extensive market research, and devising a tactical strategy. It not only helps us to know the dynamic travel trends and customer requirements but also sets concrete goals that deliver the expectations of our targeted and potential audience with an enriched customer experience.

Q) What are the key elements that help you to stand out in the industry?

Manoj: Our ability to innovate as per the market demands is one of the critical factors that help us to stand out in the industry. We believe consistently delivering quality services is equally vital to retaining existing and attracting new customers. That’s why we don’t have a middleman for planning and implementing most of our services, mainly cruises, safaris, or premium sightseeing tours. No matter whether they are looking for pocket-friendly or uber luxurious travel choices. Our objective is to serve all levels of travelers, so we offer products and services that satisfy every guest’s needs through our strong presence in both B2C (www.raynatours.com) and B2B (www.raynab2b.com) domains.

Q) Tell us your significant achievements.

Manoj: Starting with just two of us, Rayna Tours and Travels now has a vibrant multicultural workforce of about 600 employees working in its diverse branches worldwide. We began humbly to arrange stress-free Dubai activities and tours for the hotel guests. Over the years, Rayna Tours has made a significant mark in the industry as one of the UAE’s top and favorite destination management service providers. It is now an award-winning company with many respected awards and recognitions to its credit, including Arabian Travel Awards for Best Destination Management Company and Best B2B Travel Portal and Travelers’ Choice Awards from TripAdvisor, a few.

Q) What are your plans?

Manoj: We have some resourceful plans for Rayna Tours. As we currently have a presence in about ten countries, our primary goal is to get Rayna Tours and its exceptional offerings to more and more destinations worldwide until it becomes a highly successful global travel brand.
