In July 2011, Ochoa signed a three-year contract with French club Ajaccio. He made his debut for the club on 13 August 2011, in a 1–0 loss to Rennes. He quickly established himself as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper, and helped Ajaccio avoid relegation in his first season.

In the 2012–13 season, Ochoa was named the best goalkeeper in Ligue 1, after keeping 12 clean sheets in 36 appearances. He was also named in the Ligue 1 Team of the Year.
