News update – Website and Pixabay – Free illustrations and vectors

Hello all, today I want to write an update regarding my website and I also like to talk about Pixabay. This is the first time I write and update, usually I like to write content that is actually useful, like how to do things or talk about my experiences. But as I am planning some changes to my website and the future course of my website, I think it’s fine to now and then do some updates regarding my plans, and the website in general.

Pixabay.

First, I want to talk about Pixabay, if you are not familiar with them, you definitely have to check out their website. They basically are a microstock website that offers free-to-use, CC0 and public domain photos, videos, music, and Illustrations. And because I am using a lot of CC0 content for my website, I decided to contribute as well. So last month I created an account and started uploading some illustrations.

To my surprise, their response to them is very positive. At the moment of writing this, my total downloads are at 3,668 and it’s going up quickly. And that makes me happy, as I hope the free illustrations are useful to somebody.

Besides that, I even got awarded an editor’s choice for one of my illustrations, and I’m very thankful for that!! Thanks for all the great comments on my illustration and for all the followers so far! I plan to upload more content to Pixabay, and I already collected some things that I made in the past but never used. So I hope somebody else can use them instead.

Marketplace.

Besides uploading to Pixabay, I actually have bigger plans. As you might know, I have more free illustrations that I upload to THIS website and not to Pixabay. Till now I published 3 blog posts where you can download 30 free illustrations in total. I spent a considerable amount of time creating them and I hope somebody will be using them.

Yet, I believe posting them on my blog isn’t very convenient, as you cannot Easily Search for the images. Although I plan to release blog posts for newly published free illustrations and vectors (and other content as well). I also plan to create a marketplace, similar to Pixabay, to easily search and download my images.

I know I don’t have many free illustrations yet. But I really enjoy creating them, and I am pretty sure that I will keep doing this. My idea is to use the woo-commerce platform plugin to create a page to easily search and download the images. I am doing everything myself, so if something isn’t working please let me know.

If you have any suggestions or other comments, please let me know.

Have a nice day.

Ron.
