1. Head to the search bar and search for ‘regedit’.
2. Click on the very first search result.
3. This will launch the Registry Editor on your screen. 
4. Once you enter the editor, follow this path- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Policies > Microsoft > Windows
5. Now from the left hand side menu, click on ‘Window’. This will open another list. 
6. From here click on the ‘New’ button, and then on the ‘Key’ button. 
7. Name the new key as ‘Windows Update’ and press Enter to save it.
8. Now right click on this particular key, and then again click on the ‘New’ button and choose the ‘Key’ button. 
9. Name this new Key as AU and press Enter to save it. 
10. Now right click on this new key and click on ‘New’.
11. You will see a drop down menu. Select the ‘DWORD (32-bit) Value’ button. 
12. Name the new key as ‘No Auto Update’ and again press Enter to save it. 
13. Now double click on this particular key and a dialogue box will appear.
14. In the Value data field, change the value from 0 to 1. 
15. Click on the ‘OK’ button and then Restart your computer. 
16. That’s it!
