19 Tips To Successfully Use Done-For-You Content

The world is changing at an exponential pace, and so are the preferences of online users. People now expect instant answers and access to information. To keep up with this rapid pace of change, a small business must embrace content marketing to gain traffic and build relationships.

You can use done-for-you content as an effective way to attract more readers, viewers and customers. Here are some tips on successfully using done-for-you content in your business.

My posts may include affiliate links. This means if you make a purchase after clicking one of my links, I may make some commission. But this will be at no extra cost to you. I only ever recommend things I trust and use myself (or have used). You can use my full disclaimer here.

Purchasing done-for-you content is easy, but remembering to edit and use it can be tricky. It doesn't have to be.

Here is a little reminder: content creation is hard work. I know; it's what I do. Those blank screens suck away at your soul. If you're lucky, you'll manage to get something on paper before you drift towards the point of no return. Which inevitably involves stomping around telling your partner that everything is impossibly difficult.

The good news is you can pull apart done-for-you content and put it back together in 40 different ways without ever having to blank screen again. This is 100% easier than starting from scratch.

Done-for-you content is the perfect place to start when struggling with writer's block. If you don't have the time to be creating great content from scratch or want to save money, but you still want to give your customers high quality content, this is one of the best options.

You might be thinking about a few things about using DFY content in your marketing: How can I make it my own? How can I use it in my business? How can I edit it, so it's relevant to me and my business?

19 tips for using done-for-you content effectively

Done-for-you content gives you a head start. It cuts down on your workload and helps ensure that your blog posts and products are up to scratch before they go live.

It reduces your workload, which makes it easier for you to produce fresh content. It also ensures that your audience gets the most out of you and your business.

Don’t forget, done-for-you content bundles aren't just for writing blog posts and ebooks. You can use it as Social Media content, email marketing content, or even just for content ideas. You could even use it to update existing content to make it even more valuable to your ideal client.

These tips cover a range of different things. Depending on what type of content you're using, you may use the various tips at different times.

Change The Titles

It's always a good idea to rework a PLR title if possible. A lot of the titles are not geared towards your target audience. A title that is more creative and attracts your audience might be better. You should also think about SEO when creating something like a blog post.

Add Your Voice

Read through the done for you content once without making changes. After you have read through it once, go back in and add a new introduction that sounds like you. Go through and change words you don't usually use to terms you would use. Also, check the grammar.

Add Your Keywords

If you are using the PLR content as a blog post or content directly on your site, you'll want to know what keyword you want to focus on in that post. Put it in your title, H2 headers, and the content's first paragraph.

If you're not using it on your site, you don't need to think about keywords much other than the title.

Change the Images

You can alter the images in PLR to create your own by cropping them differently, colourising them differently, or choosing new images.

I use Styled Stock Society to find great images for my content. If you're looking for excellent, feminine images (and Canva templates) for your content, Styled Stock Society may be the answer you've been searching for if you’re looking for lifestyle, wellness or entrepreneur images.

If you like, you can download all stock photos in a collection, which is a great way to keep your content consistent. This is a great option if you're looking for social media graphics. Especially since they also have a ton of pre-written captions you can use in your social media post.

Check the Facts

Make sure the content you're working on is factual and up-to-date. It might be outdated or incorrect, so check it and make the necessary adjustments. Also, try to schedule a time to update your published content.

Add a Clear Call to Action

You should always add a clear call to action at the end of all your content. This will make it easier for your readers to take action and help them understand what they need to do next.

Brand It As Your Own

If you have fonts, colours, and logos on your original content, you'll also want to use them for your PLR, too. You don't want the done-for-you content you promote to your audience to look different from everything you provide.

Create Valuable Content for Your Email List

Give away valuable content to build your email list. Before letting people view your content, you can ask for an email address and other information first. Then, you can send your new subscribers useful information, tips, or advice they might want to hear.

Create Content Upgrades With done-for-you content

A content upgrade is content that lives within other content your viewer is already reading or viewing. Usually, the content is downloadable. I create PDF versions of my blog posts using Designrr or Beacon.

This link gets you Designrr for a one-time fee of $27.

Use the done-for-you content As A Lead Magnet

You can buy PLR and use it directly as a digital product or a Lead Magnet. It's something valuable to your audience that will solve one problem for them quickly.

You don't want the lead magnet to be too involved in this format. Teach them to do one thing that will make a massive difference for them.

Use PLR as The Foundation of a Webinar

You can use done-for-you content that addresses one problem as a basis for a webinar. Even if people don't attend the webinar, they'll be added to your email list after registering.

There are many brandable courses that you can customise to your specific needs. You'll definitely be able to find a suitable content bundle for this from somewhere like Coach Glue or Piggy Makes Bank.

Develop a New Membership Site

You can add any PLR that helps your audience to a membership site. You can easily rebrand it and add it mostly as is right on the membership site. You can set up a way to drip-feed content or give it to them all at once.

Turn PLR Into A Free Email Course

There are plenty of pre-made courses that you may modify to match your business requirements. You may run an email course without worrying about e-Learning technology if you do not want to.

Put those brandable courses to good use. Again, you can grab an amazing content package on any topic for this from Piggy Makes Bank.

Repurpose PLR Into Different Formats

When you buy PLR, remember that you can repurpose it into many different formats and use it as different types of content to get people interested in your business.

My favourite is to create infographics that are perfect as a sharable social media image. Sometimes you may need to add additional information to the content to turn it into what you want it to be, but still, you'll have a kickstart.

Create an Email Autoresponder Series with PLR

One way to use PLR is to create an autoresponder series. When you give your list valuable content, with CTAs, you can segment them better, enabling you to make more money while keeping people on your list due to the value you offer.

Use Done For You Content to Create a 30-Day Challenge.

You can turn the content into a challenge and deliver the content via email, your blog, or a Facebook Group. Piggy Makes Bank has tons of great content specifically designed for these types of challenges.

You can use checklists, cheat sheets, free spreadsheet templates, and other PLR content you purchase and use to create 30-day challenges.

Put the Content to Use Quickly

Before just storing the content on your hard drive or cloud, use it as soon as possible. Knowing what you want to use it for before purchasing it is crucial.

Match Your Efforts with Your Promotions

When purchasing done-for-you content, look at other items you would like to promote as you choose the content. This will ensure it matches your plans, allowing you to attract and nurture the right audience properly.

Create an Editorial / Publishing Calendar

Set up a Google calendar, so you know when and what you're publishing, and work your way back to know what you need to accomplish. For example, you might want to know what graphics you need to create or how much rewriting you will need before launching your post on a certain day.

The Bottom Line

When it comes to using done-for-you content, choosing the right strategies will be crucial. The bottom line is that when it comes to PLR content, there is no one-size-fits-all solution.

It all depends on your goals, your audience, and what you are trying to accomplish with the content. If you choose to use DFY content, you should put time and effort into ensuring the content is perfect.
