On the 28 June 2021, invent Oregon published a post announcing ELECTERRO as the invent Oregon collegiate challenge first place winner with 10,000 US$ prize for a tree-inspired solar array. ELECTERRO is a solar and wind generator with photovoltaic leaves and a vertical-axis wind turbine.
Electric boat
On the 15 October 2021, katapult ocean and freepower published a joint press release announcing FREEPOWER as a katapult ocean accelerator program 2021 cohort member, FREEPOWER is a self sufficient and 100% solar energy-driven electric boat, which are easy to use, silent, emission free and have a low carbon footprint.
Hot water
On the 4 November 2021 Scottish edge twitted solarisKit as a winner of net zero pitch with £100,000 prize. SolarisKit is offering the world's first flat-packable solar thermal collector. A patent-pending device that can convert sunlight into hot water for multiple applications globally.
Solving the voltage problem
On the 21 January 2021, CFC Big ideas published a post announcing ELEXSYS as the winner of 2021 davos energy week renewable energy startup pitch competition. ELEXSYS provides a management system including a software and a grid edge device that stabilize voltage by targeting peaks and drops due to excess demand or energy feed-in.
Extending solar panels life time
On the 11 June 2021, OSAZDA ENERGY published a press release announcing that they are winner of new mexico economic development department Science and technology business startup grant with 25,000 USD, OSAZDA ENERGY is developing METZILLA metallization technology, an additive for silver pastes that minimize losses from craking and allow the harvesting of more solar energy.
Solar panels efficiency
On the 29 October 2021, Orion energy accelerator published an article announcing RED PHASE as the winner of THE MOST INNOVATIVE prize with NZD 15,000, RED PHASE developed a technology to convert more of their solar into energy.
Mini-grids franchise
On October 2021, katapult climate fund announced NXT grid as a katapult climate accelerator program 2021 cohort member, NXT grid is a mini-grid developer program that makes it possible for a non-engineer to run their own local utility and be profitable in their endeavour.
One device system
On the 10 February 2021, expert DOJO published a post announcing CZAR-POWER as a 2021 spring cohort member, CZAR-POWER combine three component of a solar energy system:
- Power inversion,
- EV fast charging,
- Stationary storage.
Their goal is to reduce the investment cost from about US$21,600+ to US$6,000.
