The Apple iPad Pro and iPad Air now have a new capability that can preserve battery life

The eagerly anticipated iPad Pro and iPad Air, with their huge, incredibly thin bodies and cutting-edge features, were unveiled by the American electronics behemoth Apple last week.

Apple has included a function in these new products that pertains to battery health. Specifically, the gadget will prevent you from charging your iPad Pro or iPad Air above 80% consistently.

With a setting of 80%, for example, your smartphone will never use more power than that specified, unless it is needed sometimes to “maintain accurate battery state-of-charge estimates,” according to the business.

In order to prolong the life of a device component, the massive Cupertino-based company also stated that it would shorten the time a battery takes to fully charge.

“Reducing the amount of time your iPad spends fully charged reduces the wear on your battery,” the company stated in its support document. You can choose to stop charging your iPad Pro (M4) and iPad Air (M2) at 80% to help extend the life of your battery.”

“If you select the 80% limit, your iPad will charge to roughly 80% of its capacity before shutting off. Battery charging will restart if the charge level drops to 75% and continue until the battery reaches about 80% once more.

How is the battery restriction of 80% set?

On your iPad Pro or iPad Air, navigate to the device settings and choose Battery Health.

Once the feature is enabled, flip the switch next to 80% Limit.

According to the business, the new iPad Pro is the thinnest product that Apple has ever made, with an incredibly light and thin design that elevates portability to a whole new level.
