Pakistan is expected to host Saudi Crown Prince MBS from May 10 to 15

Following Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to the Kingdom in March, relations between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan have reached a new level. According to reports cited by Geo News on Monday, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman is expected to make his eagerly awaited visit to Islamabad between May 10 and May 15.

The high-ranking official’s visit is crucial for Pakistan, which is hoping to get significant investments from Saudi Arabia in a number of sectors, particularly in light of Prince Salman’s upcoming visit later this month.

The last time Saudi Prime Minister Salman, popularly known as MBS, visited Pakistan was in February 2019, during the administration of former Prime Minister Imran Khan. This would be MBS’s first trip there in five years.

Additionally, it would put into practice the agreement reached in Makkah between the two nations to bring $5 billion in Saudi investments to Pakistan in the near future.

But the official announcement on the precise dates of MBS’s visit is about to happen.

It was revealed that MBS was scheduled to travel to Pakistan in 2022 as part of his tour of the area, but the trip was abruptly canceled.

A 50-person high-level Saudi trade delegation, headed by Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Investment Minister Ibrahim Almubarak, arrived in Islamabad yesterday for a two-day official visit with the goal of exploring trade and investment opportunities in advance of Prince Salman’s anticipated arrival in the coming days.

Among the several economic sectors represented by the delegation’s member companies are information technology, telecommunications, energy, aviation, construction, mining exploration, agriculture, and human resource development.

Prior to the trade delegation, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal Bin Farhan pledged during his two-day visit to Pakistan last month that his kingdom will do everything in its power to support the economic growth of its friendly nation.
