Protectabish, the first sanitizing prayer beads for pilgrims worldwide, were introduced by Saudi Arabia

Just in time for Ramadan and Umrah season, when Saudia and the Kingdom usually expect the greatest number of visitors and Umrah pilgrims, Saudia, the national flag carrier of Saudi Arabia, has introduced the world’s first sanitizing prayer beads.

The first prayer beads with a dual purpose, ProtecTasbih were developed in partnership with creative agency partners. They smoothly blend the spiritual practice of tasbih with the extra advantage of hand sanitization. This creative reinterpretation of the prayer beads reflects a well-balanced blend of contemporary health consciousness and cultural reverence.

Tea tree oil is used in the prayer beads as a sanitizing agent since it works well against a wide range of microorganisms and damages the bacteria’s cell membrane. The oil was mixed with a semi-solid substance using a molding procedure to form a solid bead.

The well-being of every guest is our first priority at Saudia, according to Mr. Essam Akhonbay, VP of Marketing. We are proud to have introduced a special product that improves the pilgrimage experience and enables our visitors to devote themselves entirely to their spiritual quest.

All Saudia visitors will have access to the cutting-edge new product on board to guarantee a hygienic and healthy pilgrimage experience. Additionally, Protectasbih were dispersed around Makkah, the sacred city.
