As the deadline approaches, PCB rejects Melbourne Stars’ request for a NOC extension

Melbourne Stars requested an extension of the No Objection Certificate (NOC) for spinner Usama Mir and pacer Haris Rauf, but the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) denied their request. The NOC’s deadline is scheduled to end on December 28.

As per a report in the local media, PCB informed Sydney Thunder and Melbourne Stars of their decision, and both teams requested an extension for Zaman Khan. The three players are essential components of the team that will take on New Zealand in a five-match Twenty20 International series that kicks off on January 12.

Melbourne Stars formally asked for Haris and Usama’s availability to be extended until the first week of January in their request for an extension. The Stars were excited to have these players join them in order to strengthen their lineup.

Three more matches might have been played by Haris, Usama, and Zaman if the PCB had approved the Big Bash League (BBL) teams’ request. They were made available until December 28th according to the original NOC that the PCB issued.

Haris and Usama are anticipated to play their final BBL game against the Hobart Hurricanes on Thursday in accordance with PCB’s NOC requirements. As of right now, the NOC has allowed them to play five matches in total; the final one is still planned to happen.

The goal of the Melbourne Stars’ appeal was to give the players’ NOC an extra three matches, till January 12. Sydney Thunder also made numerous requests for Zaman Khan’s NOC extension to the PCB in a similar manner.
