Nearly a month after its premiere, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal is still doing quite well at the box office. In key parts, Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna work together for the first time in this film.

Interestingly enough, though, Parineeti Chopra, an Indian performer, was first considered for the role of Mandanna. The filmmaker revealed this information when speaking with Komal Nahta, adding that Parineeti was initially hesitant to hear about his choice.

The contentious director declared, “I’m to blame. I asked her to pardon me. Parineeti Chopra was contracted by me 1.5 years before to the shoot, but for some reason, I didn’t think she had Geetanjali. A certain number of characters and logos are not meant to be (set nahi hota hai).

“I don’t believe in auditions,” he continued. I only follow my instincts. I am aware of that. Since the beginning, I have been fond of her performance and have always wanted to cast her as Preeti in Kabir Singh, but alas, it did not work out. That was overdue. Working alongside her has always been my dream. She is aware of what I told her. I apologized, saying that nothing could compare to the movie. I’m choosing to move on with another artist as a result. Although it hurt, she knew why I was saying it.

Even though some critics and viewers had conflicting opinions about Animal, it remains one of the most commercially successful Bollywood movies of 2023. The movie, which debuted on December 1, has made more than INR5 billion at the Indian box office. Animal Park, the sequel that the filmmaker has revealed, will be harsher and darker than its predecessor. According to reports, Ranbir will play two roles in the next film.
