PCB provides Naseem Shah’s health update

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) provided an update on the health of star pacer Naseem Shah on Wednesday. Shah sustained a shoulder injury during this year’s Asia Cup, which prevented him from competing in the ICC World Cup.

In October, the fast bowler with the right arm underwent surgery in the UK.

The PCB said in a statement on Wednesday that “Pakistan fast bowler Naseem Shah started the final stage of his rehabilitation today at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore.”

After suffering an injury during the Asia Cup in September, the young pacer had surgery in the UK. After the procedure, he spent two months recovering and receiving his first training in the UK. His medical expenses were paid for by the PCB, and he was under constant supervision from a group of highly qualified medical professionals.

“A doctor, a physiotherapist, and a strength and conditioning coach are overseeing Nasiem’s ongoing recovery at NCA, Lahore. He is working out lightly at the gym and has started some bowling practice. He will begin batting tomorrow.

Naseem, a top pacer for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) team Quetta Gladiators, had made a significant trade to Islamabad United.

After rumors circulated that the right-arm bowler had chosen to depart from Quetta, Naseem became the talk of the cricket community, with every PSL team attempting to sign the 20-year-old.

Islamabad has now secured the first-round Platinum selection for Quetta, while Quetta has secured the third-round Platinum selection for Islamabad.

Strong reports suggested that Naseem would finish up playing for Peshawar Zalmi or Multan Sultans, who had just acquired Iftikhar Ahmed in a trade deal. However, Islamabad emerged victorious in the competition to sign the pacer
