With electioneering in full throttle, Bilawal promises a 100% pay raise for government employees

As the general elections approach, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari pledged on Tuesday that if his party was granted another opportunity at power, he would raise the pay of every government employee by an astounding 100%.

Speaking at a public gathering in Upper Dir, Bilawal claimed that every time his party took power, the PPP increased the pay of public servants, according to Geo News.

The PPP-led federal government raised public officials’ basic pay by 50% in June 2010; nevertheless, the party maintains that it was partially responsible for the previous PDM-led government’s 35% salary rise for public servants.

The PPP leader blasted the caregivers, pointing out that the nation’s inflation rate had reached a historic high and that both unemployment and poverty were rising daily. He continued by saying that the current ruling class was indifferent to the suffering of the populace.

The PPP leader stated that “politics of hatred and division” is damaging the populace and that in order to “steer the country out of the crisis,” lawmakers would need to “leave such politics.”

The PPP leader launched a new attack on the “old politicians,” claiming that their “ego” was the source of all issues. “Rather than opposing politics, they leaned toward personal animosity.”

Bilawal attacked the PML-N and made it clear that his party was in favor of the PDM-led administration in order to address the nation’s economic problems.

The PPP leader addressed the power show, saying, “You have seen the real faces of the PTI and the Mehangai League [PML-N].”

“You’ll need to give PPP a chance, as Shaheed Bhutto was given one.”

He continued by saying that PTI and PML-N share the same objectives. According to the PPP leader, the PML-N sought retaliation after gaining power. According to Bilawal, his party did not know that the PML-N would exact retribution on them during their time as coalition partners.

The PPP leader outlined the accomplishments of his party, noting that his father Asif Ali Zardari was the driving force behind the introduction of the 18th Amendment to the Constitution, whilst other parties sought its repeal and modifications to the National Finance Commission (NFC) formula.

“After winning the election, we will put the 18th Amendment and the NFC Award into effect.” He believed that the NFC Award and the 18th Amendment had not been adequately implemented. In the battle against inflation and terrorism, the PPP leader urged cooperation
