Today Update about Israel-Hamas War

Palestinian journalist, family members martyred in Israeli strike

In an Israeli strike last night, a Palestinian journalist and ten of his closest family members perished, increasing the total number of journalists who have died at the hands of Israeli troops.

Mohammad Abu Hattab, a journalist with Palestine TV, was killed shortly after he was spotted doing live reporting.

When reporting on the murder of Abu Hattab, his colleague, journalist Salman Al Bachir, broke down in tears and declared: “These helmets and gear are just empty slogans; they do not protect any journalists.” As we are on air, we are victims. We are victims ready to be executed in turn.”

Then, pointing out that the press vest and helmet cannot protect its wearers, he took them off.

Israeli forces encircle Gaza as Hamas threatens retaliation

After a day of deadly gunfire, Israeli forces have surrounded Gaza City, the Hamas heartland. Meanwhile, the Palestinian resistance group issued an ultimatum to Israel, stating that its soldiers would return home “in black bags.”

Israel received a warning from Hamas’ armed wing, the Ezzedine Al-Qassam Brigades, that its men would return “in black bags” after their invasion.

According to spokesman Abu Obeida, “Israel’s history will be cursed by Gaza.”

Following days of intensifying ground operations, Israeli military spokesman Daniel Hagari announced that troops had totally surrounded Gaza City. This prompted Hamas to issue a warning.

“Israeli soldiers have completed the encirclement of the city of Gaza, the center of the Hamas terror organisation,” Hagari informed the media.

“The concept of a ceasefire is not currently on the table at all,” he stated.

Blinken reaches Israel in bid to curb civilian harm in Gaza war

According to an AFP correspondent accompanying him, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken arrived in Israel on Friday. The purpose of his visit was to discuss ways to reduce the harm that the Gaza War’s civilian casualties may cause.

Before leaving for Israel, US President Joe Biden called for humanitarian pauses in the fighting, and Blinken said he will look to Israel for “concrete measures” to guarantee that injury to Palestinian civilians is minimized.

After speaking with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Blinken will go on to speak with the members of the nation’s war cabinet.

Following their discussion, the US secretary of state will have a meeting with President Isaac Herzog and then opposition leader Yair Lapid.

‘Where is the Islamic world?’ asks Palestinian girl

As Israeli forces announced on Friday that they had surrounded Gaza City, a distraught little Palestinian girl begs and sobs to the “Arab” and “Islamic” worlds to put an end to the conflict in Gaza.

In the backdrop, a young girl standing in the debris of a demolished building declares, “There’s no food, water, house, or anything else. Am I losing my mind? I’m not sure.

UN launches $1.2 bn aid appeal to help Gaza, West Bank residents

With the goal of providing $1.2 billion in humanitarian aid to about 2.7 million people in Gaza and the West Bank, the UN launched an appeal on Friday.

As per the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), “the estimated cost of meeting the needs of 2.7 million people, which includes the entire population of Gaza and 500,000 people in the occupied West Bank, is $1.2 billion.”

“The initial request for $294 million to sustain about 1.3 million people was made on October 12th. Since then, the situation has become more dire,” it continued.

Palestinian students exempted from tuition, hostel fees: Sindh interim CM

Justice Maqbool Baqra, the caretaker chief minister of Sindh province in Pakistan, declared on Friday that Palestinian students enrolled in “public sector educational institutions” in Sindh will not be required to pay tuition or accommodation costs.

Also disclosed by him was the fact that “48 Palestinian students are receiving education in Sindh.”

Gaza death toll soars to 9,227 including 3,826 children

According to the Gaza health ministry’s statement on Friday, since October 7, Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip have resulted in the deaths of at least 9,227 Palestinians, including 3,826 children.

In protest of the strikes, some nations called back their Israeli ambassadors. Bolivia broke off diplomatic relations.

Israel claims to have assassinated a senior Hamas commander in a tunnel complex beneath the camp in an effort to demonstrate that Jabalia was a real threat.

Along with 60 wounded Palestinians, some 400 more foreign nationals and dual citizens were able to flee the conflict to Egypt on Thursday.

Israel says troops encircle Gaza City as Blinken visits

On Friday, as top US diplomat Antony Blinken arrived in Tel Aviv for a visit aimed at minimizing civilian losses, Israeli ground forces surrounded Hamas stronghold Gaza City.

The Israeli military declared on Thursday that it had “completed the encirclement” of Gaza’s largest city, ahead of Blinken’s arrival. This marked the start of a new chapter in the IDF’s month-long battle with Hamas.

A group of elite soldiers heard Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu celebrate Israeli forces’ “advancing” despite “painful losses” and other recent wins.

“The campaign is now underway. At a base close to Tel Aviv, he declared, “We have very impressive successes.”

“We have already moved beyond Gaza City’s periphery. We’re making progress.

Gaza City is referred to by the Israeli military as “the center of the Hamas.”

Israel has ‘right’ and ‘obligation’ to defend itself: Blinken

As Israel keeps pounding the Gaza Strip with an air and military assault, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken reaffirmed on Friday that it has the right and duty to defend itself.

“Israel has the right and the duty to protect itself… to ensure that this October 7 incident never occurs again,” Blinken stated to reporters after his meeting with Israeli President Isaac Herzog in Tel Aviv.

Blinken spoke separately with Herzog and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu shortly after his arrival.

Blinken declared prior to his arrival in Israel that he would ask Israel to take “concrete steps” to guarantee that the harm done to Palestinian civilians is minimized.

Before leaving for Israel, Blinken had told reporters, “We will be talking about concrete steps that can and should be taken to minimise harm to men, women, and children in Gaza.”

“This is something that the United States is committed to.”

“When I see a Palestinian child — a boy, a girl — pulled from the rubble of a collapsed building, that hits me in the gut as much as seeing a child in Israel or anywhere else,” Blinken stated.

“So this is something that we should respond to, and we will.”

At a campaign rally on Thursday, Biden stated, “I think we need a pause.”

Later on, US National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby elaborated on the details of such a halt.

“A humanitarian pause… is temporary, localised and focused, focused on a particular objective or objectives, humanitarian aid in, people out,” Kirby stated to reporters.

Hezbollah leader delivers first speech since start of Israel-Hamas war

Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of Hezbollah, delivers his first speech in public since the start of the conflict while Israel continues its attack on the Gaza Strip.

“This is a seamless conflict at the levels of humanity, ethics, and religion. It’s the most obvious, honest, and noble,” he declared.

“Our unshakable conviction, steadfast belief, and unwavering devotion to the cause are our true strengths.”

The head of Hezbollah also sent “condolences and congratulations” to the relatives of those who lost their lives in Gaza and the occupied West Bank, including those who perished in Israel as a result of Hamas’s al-Aqsa Flood operations, which he claims “has extended on a number of fighting fronts.”

“We appreciate the Yemeni and Iraqi workers who participated in this conflict. Its proprietors kept the operation’s inception a secret from everyone, and it was a 100% Palestinian decision. Nobody in the opposition axis was offended by the operation’s secrecy. This is a Palestinian struggle, for Palestinians, and it has nothing to do with any regional problem. The attack on October 7 caused an earthquake in Israel. Israel’s vulnerability was exposed by the Al-Aqsa storm,” he continued.

The timing of the Palestinian group’s choice to launch Al-Aqsa storm was deemed appropriate, prudent, and brave by him.

The head of Hezbollah referred to Israel as “frail” and claimed that it had failed to produce a single military victory for a full month.

He refers to the current conflict in Gaza as a crucial struggle that differs from earlier conflicts.

He claims that everyone must take accountability for this.

According to Al Jazeera, Nasrallah also lays forth two objectives: the first is to put an end to the conflict in Gaza, and the second is for Hamas to win this conflict.

Hezbollah reportedly joined the conflict on October 8, the day after Hamas launched their unexpected onslaught in southern Israel, according to Nasrallah.

The daily gunfight with Israeli forces near the Lebanese border, he claims, may not seem like much, but it is a significant development that has not happened since 1948.

Additionally, Nasrallah affirmed that 57 Hezbollah militants had been eliminated thus far.

‘Arab and Muslim’ nations ought to cooperate to put an end to the conflict in Gaza, according to Hezbollah’s Nasrallah.

Additionally, he claims that Israel is being forced to maintain its forces close to the Lebanon border rather than in Gaza or the West Bank due to Hezbollah’s daily intensifying operations.

Nasrallah goes on to claim that rather than keeping its forces in Gaza or the occupied West Bank, Israel is being forced to keep them close to the Lebanon border by Hezbollah, which has been intensifying its activities daily.

During his speech, the leader of Hezbollah keeps returning to familiar ground while indicating that more escalation on the Lebanese front is a plausible outcome.

Speaking about the US warships stationed in the area, Nasrallah asserts that Hezbollah remains unfazed.

The head of Hezbollah asserts that the fighting in the Gaza Strip must end immediately for anyone hoping to avert a broader conflict.

Nasrallah restates that there are no closed doors on the Lebanese front.

Once more, Israel strikes Al-Shifa Hospital, murdering multiple Palestinians

Another pogrom in Gaza saw Israel kill and hurt a large number of Palestinians who were being moved from Gaza’s Al-Shifa Hospital to the border crossing with Egypt at Rafah.

According to spokesman Ashraf al-Qudra for the Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza, critically injured patients were being moved to the Rafah crossing with Egypt at the exact moment of the Israeli attack, which took place immediately outside Al-Shifa Hospital.

“Those victims were lined up in those ambulances, and we told the Red Cross and the Red Crescent and the entire world about it,” he declared.

It should be mentioned that in addition to more than 5,000 patients, the Al-Shifa Hospital has tens of thousands of displaced people in the front and rear yards.

US calls for a halt to fighting in Gaza

Leading US ambassador Antony Blinken called for more action to be taken to safeguard Palestinian civilians during the campaign to eliminate Hamas when he met with Israeli leaders on Friday.

Blinken claimed he had discussed the notion of “humanitarian pauses” with Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in order to secure the release of captives and enable the distribution of aid to Gaza’s suffering inhabitants.

“We believe that each of these efforts would be facilitated by humanitarian pauses, by arrangements on the ground that increase security for civilians and permit the more effective and sustained delivery of humanitarian assistance,” Blinken told the media.

Netanyahu warns ‘no temporary truce’ in Gaza unless Hamas releases hostages

Benjamin Netanyahu issues a warning, saying that unless Hamas free the estimated 241 Israeli and international prisoners it abducted during its October 7 strikes, there could be no “temporary truce” in Gaza.

Israel and the US have historically opposed a general truce because they believe it would give Hamas time to reorganize and resupply, although US President Joe Biden has supported “temporary, localized” pauses.

Meanwhile, in the face of continuous warfare and airstrikes that have claimed thousands of civilian lives in the region, Israel started sending thousands of Palestinian laborers back to Gaza.
