The PCB COO is “very annoyed” that his chat with Babar Azam was leaked

Senior sports journalist Sohail Imran revealed on Thursday that Salman Naseer, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), is irritated about the disclosure of his WhatsApp chat with Pakistan captain Babar Azam.

Speaking on the Geo Pakistan show, PCB COO Salman Naseer expressed his irritation, saying, “It is very annoying that in corporate culture, the conversation that was shared between people should have remained between them.”

According to the senior journalist, the PCB COO is also worried that players won’t talk to him about their problems going forward since they’re afraid their private discussions will be revealed.

According to journalist Imran, the players on the national team and the PCB COO no longer have as much trust in one another as they once did.

Furthermore, the journalist claims that Babar is particularly irritated by the leak because he worries that in the future, his private discussions on delicate subjects may be revealed to the public.

In response to a query regarding the source of the conversation leak, the journalist stated that all relevant details regarding the dispute had been made public and that the leaker had taken responsibility for their actions.

Leak controversy

The controversy started when a senior Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) official and captain of Pakistan Babar Azam allegedly had a “private” WhatsApp conversation that was recently shown live on local television.

The discussion that was released gave validity to the rumors that the PCB’s high management was disregarding Babar Azam’s correspondence.

Speaking on PTV Sports, Rashid Latif asserted that the captain has been messaging Zaka Ashraf, the chairman of the PCB Management Committee, Salman Naseer, the chief operating officer, and Usman Wahla, the director of international cricket, for the past two days, but none of them have responded.

When a screenshot of an alleged WhatsApp conversation between the two was released, the scandal was also discussed on a private news channel.

“Barbar, there’s also this rumor going around on social media and TV that you’ve been phoning Chairman and he hasn’t been returning your calls. Have you recently given him a call?

“Salam Salman bhai, ma nay to sir ko koi call nai ke [Salam Salman bhai, I have not made any calls to sir],” is purportedly Babar Azam’s response.

“All right, thanks,” the other one said.

Nevertheless, the date of the message was not specified.

During his appearance on the show, former Pakistani cricketer Azhar Ali questioned the reporter about whether or not he had Babar’s permission before disclosing a private correspondence.

He responded, saying he doesn’t need to ask because he is a reporter.

Internet users took offense at this action and called out the reporter and TV station management for their “unethical” behavior.
