As the Monsoon season ends in Pakistan, the upper portions of the nation are set to get one final round of rain starting tomorrow (Thursday).

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) issued a Weather advisory stating that the westerly rain-producing wave is likely to enter the upper areas on Thursday, September 28 during the evening or night.

According to the system, mild to bulky falls with wind and thunderstorm are predicted in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Buner, Mansehra, Kohistan, Abbottabad, areas of Kashmir including Neelum valley, Muzaffarabad, Poonch, Hattian, Bagh, Haveli, Sudhanoti, Kotli, Bhimber, Mirpur, and areas of Gilgit Baltistan including Diamir, Astore, Ghizer, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Ghanche, Shigar from September 28 to 30.

Isolated spells of rain and thunderstorm with hailstorm is also expected in Kohat, Peshawar, Mardan, Swabi, Nowshera, Haripur, Kurram, Waziristan, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Murree, Galliyat, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mianwali, Sargodha, Khushab, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Kasur and Sheikhupura between September 28 and 29.

While this is happening, similar weather is also anticipated in Zhob, Barkhan, Layyah, Bhakkar, Dera Ghazi Khan, Okara, Pakpattan, Sahiwal, Multan, Bahawalpur, and Bahawalnagar.

Additionally, around this time, snowfall is anticipated across the high mountains of the upper regions of Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The Met office has forecast a significant drop in temperature in the areas affected by the spell as one of the potential effects.

For the duration of the period, PMD recommended both farmers and tourists to manage their crop activities and to exercise caution.

The general public has been urged to seek shelter during windstorms, lightning, and downpours since the gusts could harm loose structures like power poles, solar panels, billboards, and other items.
