Winterhaven, CA (August 6, 2022) – On Thursday morning, August 4, seven people were injured following a crash that occurred with two vehicles and a semi-Truck on Interstate 8.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that the Accident occurred, at about 10:30 a.m., in the eastbound lane of Interstate 8, when the tractor-trailer rear-ended one of the vehicles causing that vehicle to hit another vehicle.

Emergency personnel was called to the scene. Many lanes of the highway were shut down for a few hours as crews cared for injured victims and cleaned up the wreckage. Paramedics transported seven people, including children, to Yuma Regional Medical Center for further treatment of their injuries of various degrees.

Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. They indicate that the truck driver is cooperating with their investigation.
