Interview with Micah Logan: How To Run Two Businesses

Micah Logan - Serial Entrepreneur

Micah Logan is a Fitness Industry Veteran and Businessman with almost 20 years of experience.

In that time Micah has built an award winning and recognizable brand of Personal Training Studios called MELD Fitness + Wellness.

Micah’s business experience and success in the competitive Fitness Industry has led him to be tapped as the

CEO of a start up Manufacturing company called HushFrame. HushFrame is a manufacturing company of sound proofing devices that

are also a new to industry product.

BD Mag - How do you have time to run two companies at the same time?

Micah - The key is being organized and having a great team. One thing I’ve learned is not to be scared of delegating task that need to be done so I can focus on the 30,000 foot view. It’s really important to be able to focus on how you can move your company forward and what is on the horizon that can make your company better.

BD Mag -What made you want to franchise your fitness business?

Micah - For years I’ve consulted with Fitness Trainers and individuals who were thinking about getting into the industry. My first thought was that I wanted to create opportunities for business ownership that was simple to follow and run for anyone.

BD Mag -What are your goals for both Companies?

Micah - Covid has wreaked havoc across the globe, but I truly do believe that 2021 is going to be a great year for both companies. With construction resuming in the U.S. and a huge need for housing I anticipate there being a massive need for HushFrame. I think that we will see pretty significant growth, also we are seeking to do a capital raise for the company to ramp our manufacturing. In my Franchise business it may seem like a bad time to join the fitness industry, but I think it’s a great time. The shutdowns and restrictions have both forced gyms and health clubs to close and reduce capacity, however, despite this more members of clubs and gyms have become gym'less and in need of a place to workout. The net affect is that consumers have been dumped back into he big pond and there is going to be a push to reach out to these consumers.

BD Mag -What advice do you have for new entrepreneurs who are looking to build their businesses?

Micah - The key to being successful is ultimately understand that you don’t know everything. Continually learning is the best thing you can do for your future. There are two main reasons in my mind that businesses fail. The business owner is undereducated or undercapitalized, but maybe both. When I say undereducated, I’m not talking about university education, I’m talking about understanding the different skills that are required to build a profitable and sustainable business. Skills like marketing, financial literacy, employee management, operational systems and how to be a good leader.

BD Mag -How has your upbringing influenced your success?

Micah - Growing up I was fortunate to have both parents married and in the home. I think this was my primary advantage. My father was an extremely hard worker, and my mother was very entrepreneurial. I saw first-hand that hard work has benefits. I’ve had to work for everything I’ve had every step of the way, from middle school straight through high school. We were part of a school choice program that allowed us to go to school in the suburbs while we lived in the inner city, however, that came with challenges. Challenges like waking up at 5am to get to the bus stop and having a longer day than most of the other kids in school. So, I guess you could say, my idea of success was shaped early on.
