The Council are commissioning Care in the home services including a Carers home and community respite service across Staffordshire for Carers who have been assessed as having Support needs.
Respite Care and support enables Carers to take a break from their caring role and evidence suggests that this can help to achieve positive health, wellbeing and quality of life outcomes for Carers. Fewer Carers experienced mental health problems if they had taken a break since beginning their caring role.

The purpose of Care in the home and Carers home and community respite Services are to enable Service Users to remain in their own homes, living as independently as possible and to achieve and maintain their autonomy, independence, personal identity and assessed outcomes.

The aim is to provide a comprehensive and seamless service for adults experiencing hearing and communication difficulties where they might benefit from hearing assessment and rehabilitation including the option of trying hearing aids with aftercare and support.

The vision for people with hearing problems is for them to receive high quality, efficient services aligned to their social and psychological needs, delivered closer to home, with short waiting times and high responsiveness to the needs of local communities, free at the point of access.

Lot 1 – Lineside Services:
Encompasses predominantly mobile security operatives patrolling a defined geographical area to achieve and provide the following:
– Deter crime, trespass and reduce anti-social behaviour on and around Network Rail infrastructure
– Identify potentially suicidal persons and make interventions
– Assist other parties (TOCs, BTP etc)
– Assist with major incident response
– Provide support to other stakeholders in joint operations and major incident response
– Support railway staff in keeping the infrastructure and railway environment safe and secure

Lot 2 – Stations Services:
Encompasses predominantly static welfare officers located on railway station platforms to achieve and provide the following:
– Identify potentially suicidal persons and make interventions
– Assist with disorderly persons on the railway
– Reduce acts of anti-social behaviour
– Respond to potential acts of trespass
– Potential to deliver an enhanced customer service experience at stations.
