Ashraya Yojana was launched in 2002, is an integrated scheme designed to help identify low-income families in Karnataka and provide rehabilitation. Ashraya further was chartered by the Kudambashree scheme that involved in identifying needy people, especially those alienated from the state government’s decentralized poverty alleviation programs.
Also, under this scheme, each household of the village is provided with customized houses. Gram Panchayat, block, district panchayat, central (schemes), and state government funds are all financing Rgrhcl Ashraya Yojana. The Gram Panchayat was assigned to devise those micro-projects.
Necessary documents applicant need to submit while applying for Ashraya Yojana are the following;

- Income proof
- Passport size photo

Eligibility for RGRHCL Housing Scheme
An individual must meet the below mentioned eligibility criteria to Apply for RGRHCL Housing Scheme.
- The applicant must either be a female (not engaged), ex-soldier, widow, widower, physically disabled, or senior citizen.
- The applicant’s income must be below 32,000 annually as the scheme is designed for EWS.
- The applicant must not have any property in India or Karnataka state.
- Persons living in huts and on roads and internally displaced persons are qualified for the scheme.
- The person who applied for this scheme must not have utilized benefits from other similar schemes.
- However, people who own agricultural lands/sites are eligible to apply.
When to apply for the RGRHCL?
Every year in January, the applicant list is revised by the Gram Panchayat. So, the beginning of the year is the right time to apply for the RGRHCL housing schemes.
Checking the land availability status on the Ashraya portal of RGRHCL
In order to check the land availability status, enter into the RGRHCL website and click on “Land Bank & Sites (HakkuPatra) Beneficiary list” either from rural or urban as per the requirement.
And when you click on land availability, you get information district wise. You can also download the excel sheet by clicking on “Export to excel.”
Finally, with Ashraya Yojana RGRHCL housing schemes, poor people will be able to live in their own well-built houses, which they wouldn’t have dreamt of buying with their incomes. The state government is going to allocate around 5,000 houses to the poor. Rajiv Gandhi Rural Housing Corporation Limited (RGRHCL) in Karnataka, with various schemes, facilitates the construction of more houses.
