CLSS is a scheme benefiting the low & mid-income and the weaker sections of society. Under this scheme, affordable housing plans are strategized. These low salary sections of society (categorized into different segments) can avail home loans from various institutions, banks, finance firms, etc., with lower interest rates ranging 6.5, 4 & percentage on 6, 9, and 12 lakhs.

BLC –The Government provides Central Assistance of about 1.5 lakh per economically weaker society (EWS) house. The families belonging to the low paid category are eligible for this benefit for housing construction/enhancement.

AHP – Under this scheme, about 1.5 Lakhs Assistance is provided from the Government for each EWS house, alliancing with the private or public sector. Along with the central assistance, the respective states and cities also offer particular state shares, affordable prices, free stamp duty, etc.

ISSR – Under this scheme, 1 Lakh assistance is provided for qualified slum dwellers. ISSR component is executed by utilizing the land as a resource and the construction by private developers. In the scenario where a slum dweller is on privately owned land, the respective states/cities offer further Floor Space Index (FSI)/ Floor area ratio (FAR) or Transfer of Development Rights (TDR) to the landowner according to the policies. Here, the central assistance isn’t permissible.

The loan tenure limit is 20 years. And the housing unit carpet area for EWS and LIG is 30 and 60 sq.m respectively. Similarly for the MIG -I and MIG-II up to 160 & 200 sq.m  respectively is area limit. One can track the status of their application online.
