Saving your image on the desktop and getting ready to work

This is an easy way to get up and running for any newcomer to Photoshop. After opening the program, create a new folder to keep your images in. If you want to save your work in this folder, you need to be able to write to it. The easiest way to do this is to go to the Windows Start menu (which you saw earlier in this chapter) and open the Control Panel window. The Control Panel is the top left of the screen in Figure 13-1. (The Windows Start menu is at the bottom left of the screen.)

From the Control Panel, choose Appearance and Personalization and then Control Panel Settings. The first setting to highlight is Disk and File Management, as shown in Figure 13-2. Click this icon to open the Disk Management window, which I discuss in Chapter 8. When the window opens, the first thing you need to do is check the box next to Drives labeled as Local Disk (not the SSD or the network drive). You then need to click the button to the right of the Show icons for all disks (unless you’re ready for the entire drive to show all the info — that’s a ton of data). The window should look like Figure 13-3. When you’re done, you can click OK to save changes. You can always go back in and change your settings at any time by clicking this icon to the right of the Disk icon.

I need to include this warning because the Windows OS hides some common drives that you may see connected to the computer, such as an external hard drive. To access these drives, you may need to go to the Control Panel and then click the Disk Management tool,

Adobe Photoshop CS6 and ACDSee Pro are upgradeable from Photoshop Elements 12. Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 was released in April 2017 and Photoshop CS6 is made specifically for PCs and Macs, it can also be run on Chromebooks. The Adobe Creative Suite includes Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, the Adobe eServices (Dreamweaver, WebPremier, etc.), After Effects, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, and more.

To use Adobe Photoshop Elements, you simply need to download it. To view the different editions on your computer, click the “Activate” button. If you click on the “Free Version” button, you will be allowed to use the software completely without restrictions.

To use Photoshop Elements to create graphics, photos and edit images, download the software and open it from the windows or the macOS.

With Photoshop Elements, you will have to assign default values to all the settings. The defaults are for beginners and people who want to use the software to create graphics.

Portland’s safest neighborhoods

ORLANDO, Fla. — The city of Portland, Maine, has received a grant from the National Institute for Justice to strengthen community policing in some of the city’s most dangerous neighborhoods.

The grant, which runs through Sept. 30, 2013, will provide funds for training, equipment and police officers, police Commissioner Paul Taylor said Wednesday. The full list of neighborhoods to benefit from the program will be released, he said.

Portland’s Police Department will receive $54,540 to work with Portland’s Redeployment Project and Community Action Team, a program designed to provide resources to areas most in need of help, to address problems in 11 areas of the city, including Belleayre Heights.

In Belleayre Heights, police have had to invest 10 officers’ time responding to burglaries, and have had to call the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency to respond to one of these calls, according to a report Taylor presented to the City Council.

He said the program will allow police to make inroads with residents who have been dealing with poverty, and provide training on how to do things like mediation and working with mental health workers.

“It’s a very good opportunity to show the community that we’re doing something,” Taylor said.

He said police hope to address the needs in Belleayre Heights by dividing it into three sections. A mental health team will work with neighborhood churches and other groups in the first area, which will allow residents to meet as a group and share information.

Failing to set up Knockout-Validation when using AutoMapper

I’ve been looking into using AutoMapper as well as Knockout-Validation ( with my ASP.NET MVC 3 site. I’ve created the AutoMapper Model-View-ViewModel mapping here:

and everything seems to be mapping correctly but the Knockout-Validation plugin is not working correctly. I’m getting the error:
The ViewData item that has the key ’employeeName’ is of type ‘System.String’, but this
key was not present in the view.

This obviously isn’t very helpful. When I put a breakpoint in the ApplyRules() function of the plugin it shows me that the value of the customerName property is null and the value of the employeeName property (
